Intern Experience

AARP Internships offer a combination of on-the-job training and an introduction to AARP’s culture and values. Interns are a valuable member of the AARP team from day one and contribute significantly to organizational initiatives that advance our strategic mission and vision.

Internships are available throughout the organization, including our National Office in Washington, D.C. and our offices located in the states and U.S. Territories. AARP offers internships to students who are currently enrolled in degree seeking programs. Non-traditional internships are also available for returning professionals currently enrolled in a college course. Summer internships typically last 8-12 weeks. Year round internships can extend up to 12 months.

A great network is in place to make sure interns have access to varied learning and development opportunities. The AARP Intern Speaker Series provides a platform to hear directly from our leaders on a broad range of issues. Some past topics include Strategy & Innovation at AARP, the Role of Millennials in Disrupting Aging and Tools for Developing Your Career.
